Fawakih offers an outstanding summer Arabic and Quranic studies program that brings together high quality scholars with motivated students from around the country to learn and grow in an intimate spiritual and intellectual environment. Designed to helps students develop a deeper relationship
with and a greater appreciation for the Quran and other Islamic texts,
Fawakih's four-week residential program emphasizes the importance of
integrating reading (tajwid), understanding (Arabic) and growing (tafsir)
into its unique teaching approach. Students from a variety of different backgrounds benefit from Fawakih’s multilevel academic tracks that include both intermediate and advance courses. Whether one is a student looking to learn Arabic for academic study or a professional looking for personal enrichment, Fawakih’s summer program is guaranteed to take each of its students’ understanding of Arabic and the Quran to the next level. Building a strong sense of community and lifelong friendships among its staff and students is another cornerstone of Fawakih’s summer program. Throughout their stay, Fawakih students are offered opportunities engage their teachers, teacher’s assistants and community leaders via teacher office hours, teaching back sessions, Arabic-only coffee hours, and lectures at local Islamic centers. On days off, Fawakih students balance education with fun, relaxing opportunities such as going on picnics, playing sports, hiking, boating and visiting national sites such as the Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. This summer's Quranic Arabic program will take place in Herndon, VA on the following dates: * Session 1: June 1 to June 29 * Session 2: July 2 to July 30 (A student may attend any number or combination of programs offered this summer.) TuitionFawakih has worked diligently to keep costs to a minimum for this summer without having to sacrifice quality, and furthermore generous donors across the country are helping to subsidize each student's education. The tuition rates are shown below by month of application submission for full-time students and non-students (professionals, retirees, stay at home moms etc.), respectively:
